It is used for the automatic filling of a water tank, where there is no mains electricity, from a pump located several kilometres away. It consists of two main parts, the transmitter in the tank and the receiver in the pumping station panel. The transmitter detects the level of the tank and sends start or stop commands to the pump (PT612SET type remote control receiver) This eliminates the need for constant monitoring of the tank level. The big advantage of using the PT630 is that the commands from the tank to the pump are transmitted wirelessly, so the installation costs are significantly reduced. The range of the system is up to 15km, with good line of sight. The transmitter is powered by a solar panel that charges its built-in battery. The commands are sent in absolute encryption and are impossible to break.
The system is also available as PT630DSET, with the possibility of controlling two pumps from the same tank.
